Making It Simple, Making It Perfect

Thank you notes are not a question of if you
should do them, but rather how you can do them in the best
way possible. There are many things to take into consideration
here. Should you follow etiquette and write out a thank you
note personally or is it okay for you to write a thank you
note on your computer? These things are personal decisions
and should be done in the way that works the best for you.
The bottom line here is, though, that you do need to take
the necessary steps to making sure that you do send out thank
you notes.
Do It Right
To help you to make the right decisions about
the thank you notes, here are a few tips that you need to
keep in mind.
• Make sure that a personal statement
is made in the note. For example, if your guests purchased
a new toaster for you, make sure you thank them specifically
for that toaster and how you will enjoy using it every morning.
This makes the whole thing much your personal and meaningful.
• If you do use your computer to print
them out, take the time to insure that you add a thank you
and your signature written by hand at the bottom. If you do
it this way, still make sure that you provide a personal touch
to the statement.
• Communicate your thanks without going
overboard. Some people act like that gift of kitchen towels
is the best gift for someone to give. Be honest and thank
them but make it meaningful too instead of outrageous.
• A thank you note needs to only be a
few lines. Do not feel as if you have to write a small story
there. If you plan to invite them over for dinner in your
thank you note, make sure you hold true to that when the time
comes.
All of these tips about thank you notes are
